For this work, I had some help from a friend who has a degree in sound design because this was my first time trying my hand at sound design. All of the work, though, is done by me.
I created an audio track for a forest video by combining various online sampled recordings. After that, I gave the bird calls some reverb to make them sound less close to the camera. In addition, I used compressors on some sounds based on how far away the camera was, and I modulated the volume. All of this was done to give the sound a realistic depth and to give the impression that the sounds were coming from different locations, much like in a real forest. The audio editing of the approaching river presented the largest challenge for me. While it was easier to match the audio when editing bird calls, I had to be more exact with timing, volume adjustments, and audio effects because you could actually see the river approaching. The software and websites I used is Freesound.org, Pexels.com, Davinci Resolve and Logic Pro.
